1-7 What are Units

This is part of a 1 semester lecture series based loosely on Thomas Moore's "Six Ideas that Shaped Physics" that I am teaching in the summer of 2013 (I am not intending to exactly replicate the text as one can simply read it, instead this is meant to supplement the material covered in the book, so for example, my section numbers and the order I cover topics in each chapter are slightly mixed up from the book and the examples I give are usually different). To really learn the material I highly recommend picking up the set of textbooks and working through the problems, as that's the only way to really learn physics. Because I have a limited time to create these before my class begins these are nowhere near polished lectures. I often record them quickly and unless there is a glaring error I simply correct myself and continue on. I also tend to ramble (especially at the end of each video) since I'm using my notes on each unit but don't have the time right now to meticulously plan out exactly what I'm going to say, in other words this is much more like a regular classroom lecture. Once I graduate I plan on remaking these in a much more professional manner so feel free to leave comments about things that are unclear or incorrect so I can include them when I have time to remake them.
