Walking The Blue Mountain Of Skye - Bla Bheinn Day Adventure

Bla Bheinn is also know as the Blue Mountain, and in the sun that day, it did have a blue hue! A stunning location with some amazing rock formations, making it a great days climb. The week before, we arrived in 5 oC, just over a week later the temperature had swung to an amazing 28 oC! This made for a hot ascent, so pace was important, as was keeping hydrated. A slow measured pace was used, which helped with the fairly difficult terrain and navigation. Sadly, it was to hot for the dogs, who sat at the bottom with Diana. The reward for the work was the stunning views, especially of the famous Cuillin ridge. That said, views of the main land were also stunning, can you pick out Ben Nevis? At only 10k from the car park and back, its not a long distance, but the ascent was a lot for the the hight of the mountain. But its well worth the climb, which is a reward in itself for a mountain walker ;D
