Squier Sonic Stratocaster, Micro Cube (Original Version) Settings JC Clean, Volume 3:00, Gain is completely off, Tone 1:00, Reverb & Chorus on, Fender Deluxe Cable Black Tweed 15 ft (Gold Jacks), Strings 11 14 18 28 38 48 Ernie Ball, V-Picks Red Rocker Update: Talked to the doctor Friday evening & he gave me the xray results & he said no fractures, I was getting a little worried because the last few nights the pain was unbearable, especially in my chest right where my heart is, Original Description: 2 days ago, I fell on Eldridge Street (my father grew up on Eldridge Street in the 30's) & hit the pavement really hard & hurt my hands, arms, knees & chest, when I tried to get up I realized that my shoes were on the sidewalk about 6 feet behind me, how the hell does that happen? my shoes few right off of me, what the hell was that? I went to the doctor & he sent me to the radiology place for xrays on my left hand & chest, I'm gonna call the doctor later to see if he has the results of the xrays. My chest hit he pavement so hard I thought I fractured it, I didn't even realize my left hand was injured until I was in the doctor's office & saw it was scraped up & burning. Thanks to the 2 guys, whoever they were who helped me up, I'm very grateful, I filmed this video when I got home from the radiology place to see if I can still play guitar, It's a little sloppy, my 3rd finger was dragging but my guess is it's probably not from the fall, it's been locking up for a long time probably from almost 30 years of carpel tunnel in both wrists & elbows, because since I started relearning the guitar again since late Jan 2024 I've been trying to learn to play almost everythjng with the 1st & 2nd fingers because my 3rd & 4th fingers have almost no strength. I've had to relearn the guitar differently probably about 30 times because of injuries & about 6 or 7 times because I went so long without having access to a guitar I would forget how to play, the last thing I needed was another injury, Maybe it's time to pack it up, also I will most likely be getting evicted at the end of this month unless a shitload of miracles start happening, maybe it's time to hang it up, it seems like it wasn't meant to be. Over the years. many people have encouraged me to keep playing, David Likhtiger, Popa Chubby, Karl Saal, Meridith Blis, etc but every time I try to study the guitar my life starts falling apart. I've always wanted to study music, especially Chuck Berry, Scotty Moore, Muddy Waters, James Burton, Hubert Sumlin (luckily, I've met him several times), Vaughan Bros, Bob Dylan, Bird, Diz, Monk, Charlie Christian, Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, Olatunji, Grateful Dead, all the blues legends, Clapton, Kenny Burrell, John Lee Hooker, Roy Buchanan, Django, etc But I still haven't been able to actually learn music, I bought a few music books in the 2000's & a week later I wound up having to live in a shelter, it seems like a curse. I'm hoping to one day study music so I actually know what I'm doing on the guitar instead of guessing & fumbling around but I'm almost 60 now so it doesn't look like I'm ever gonna get that chance. The thing that keeps bringing me back to the guitar is that I have hundreds of originals & hundreds of covers that I rearranged in my own style & I would love to start recording & playing some of these songs live, I have enough material to record at least 10 albums, probably more, I would love to record about 2 or 3 albums, mostly studio recordings & maybe a few live recordings & then just keep playing live & record as many gigs as possible & take the best of it & make a few live albums, In the past 20 years, there were times where I went long periods without access to a guitar, sometimes more than 3 or 4 years at a time but I still always constantly had riffs & melodies going through my head while I was patiently waiting for the next chance to get my hands on a guitar, I wish I was able to have used all that downtime to study my heroes & really get a deep understanding of the music I grew up on. I also wished I could have taken a few drum classes with Olatunju & then used those rhythms on guitar, Ond time in 1997, Dave Likhtiger's friend, the legendary Lower East Side drummer George Morales was telling me that he studied with Olatunji, I had no idea Olatunji had given lessons in NYC, I would have loved to have studied with him, I grew up on that Drums of Passion album, my parents had that record
