The Microclimate Prime 2 thermostat has been around for many years but very little in terms of reviews online accept information on the software, this hopefully tries to address that. The marketing blurb says it's "an all-in-one unit, the Microclimate Prime 2 Thermostat allows the control of up to 3 pieces of reptile heating equipment, all accurately digitally controlled, with a Night-Time drop, temperature alarms and data logging facility". This is a review to see if it is up to replacing my three Microclimate EVO's to control three vivariums. With some more on the way I want to minimise the number of stats if I can. It is still available in some stockists though no longer features on the website. I hope it will be replaced with a multichannel thermostat to match the Herpstat4 and 6 by Spyder Robotics on the US. As with all microclimate thermostats it comes with the 5 year warranty! I am using the two Pulse options and the On/Off channel to control the three 100W white python ceramic heaters in each of my 'viper vivs'. I will be monitoring for a week or so to see how well it keeps temps and ultimately what it is like to live with. Update: I am now using the dimming function on the vivariums and the on/off for two heat mats which is used for a two level rack - working perfectly.
