Inspired by Daniel Kahneman’s book, “Thinking, Fast and Slow”, Yi Wei explores the idea of of how two modes of thoughts – the ‘Fast System’ and the ‘Slow System’ can influence the way we think about Politics, and how these differences in thought might be the key to changing a whole landscape of culture in politics. Lim Yi Wei is the current state assemblywoman for Kampung Tunku, Selangor, as well as one of the Democratic Action Party Socialist Youth heads. She majored in finance at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST). Inspired by Hong Kong’s Umbrella Revolution, YB Lim returned to Malaysia to serve her countrymen, leaving behind her chapter as a conference producer focusing on trading technology, derivatives, and risk management. She was previously political secretary to Tony Pua, MP for Damansara, and a councillor with the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ). YB Lim is passionate about education, youth and women empowerment, and culture. With her present constituency including the busy SS2 district, she aims to present her people a balance between urban development and quality of life.
