Immersive Experience Network - Huddle 1 - London February 2023 Rob Morgan - https://playlines.net/ Rob Morgan (he/him) is a writer, experience designer, digital dramaturg, and founder and Creative Director of London-based AR design studio Playlines. Rob writes and narrative-designs award-winning AR & VR experiences and has helped create story worlds and immersive experiences for some of the world's largest licenses, attractions and cultural institutions. He is a pioneer of Mixed Reality theatre, and has collaborated on some of the most critically-acclaimed games in VR and interactive narrative. Rob wrote and voice-directed ‘A Fisherman’s Tale’ (Game of the Year, VR Awards ‘19), co-wrote the 2012 Augmented Reality PlayStation game ‘Wonderbook: Book of Spells’ and its sequel ‘Book of Potions’, and was Content Editor of the multi-award-winning mobile game ‘80 Days’ (TIME’s Game of the Year ‘15). He has written a wide range of VR games and training projects including conflict zone training for journalists and the world’s first accredited VR business masterclass. As Creative Director of Playlines, Rob directed the groundbreaking AR hip-hop opera ‘CONSEQUENCES’ (Raindance ‘19) and directed the ‘Augmented Gallery', a major covid-safe arts installation for London’s West End in partnership with London’s largest art galleries. He also directed ‘The Magical Gallery’, a unique layer of education and gameplay installed within the National Gallery for Netflix and My Little Pony. Rob has acted as Digital Dramaturg for DreamThinkSpeak and National Theatre of Malta, and is currently a Visiting Fellow at King’s College London, researching and prototyping location-based digital media.
