Hello! :D Going back to the formative years of British history following the departure of the Romans, we look at a dark period when the onslaught of Viking hordes from the near continent threatened to depose the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms with their battle-hardened armies and superior fighting abilities, only for a young prince in the Kingdom of Wessex to turn the tables at a small hill to the northwest of Reading, where in the company of his older brother, King Æthelred I, the seemingly indefatigable Dane Army was turned away on the battlefield by the crudely armed and inexperienced Saxons, starting what would ultimately see the Vikings driven from the English shores.
