BS Zelda: A Simulated Satellaview Broadcast

Back in 1995, Nintendo released a 16-bit remake of The Legend of Zelda via its Broadcast Satellaview peripheral for the Japanese version of the Super NES, the Super Famicom. Titled BS Zelda no Densetsu, this new adventure featured CD-quality audio and voiceover that guided players during a limited-time quest that synced up to four separate hour-long satellite radio broadcasts. The series ended quickly, and once reruns had ceased, there was no way to experience BS Zelda in its original form. Long thought lost to time, the BS Zelda broadcasts have since been rediscovered and translated by fans, and players can now relive the original Satellaview experience using an SD2SNES flash cartridge. In this simulated broadcast, we explore the history behind BS Zelda and the origins of the Satellaview peripheral. It's a fascinating piece of tech!
