Within a matter of minutes you can go from hot, cactus filled desert, to tall pines and lush green forest with Surprises around every turn. Arizona 288 was added to the state highway system in 1960 but the actual road is much older. As glamorous as this highway might be, making one wrong move on this fragile narrow road could cost you your life.
