#Eudora2 #restoration #MisterPatina Paypal: paypal.me/NTRBeer Patreon: / notterriblerestorations / ntrprojects / ntrprojects Hey Everyone, Mister Patina challenged me again to a restoration battle! In one of his last videos, he restored an Eudora 2 or better an Eudora II shoe widener. Its a shoemaker's tool from 1930. He was so satisfied with his result that he challenged me to a rematch: • 'Eudora II' Shoe Widener Restoration As the first battle was won by me: • WINNER: How 100 Slices of Plywood Won... Not wanting to lose my GOAT title, I decided to accept the challenge. While his restoration was perfect, I chose a very different approach. I challenged myself to create the most historically accurate restoration possible. This includes: Leaving casting marks Keeping uncentered drill holes Applying the original japanning coating instead of powder coating Sticking to the original color concept This will hopefully help us answer a lifelong question: Do you prefer restoration videos with perfect finishes that elevate an old design to today's aesthetic standards, or do you prefer to see the object in its exact former glory? I can see arguments for both and I have my own opinion but for now I keep it to myself how I want antique tools to be taken care of. But please watch both videos and let us know in the comments which you like best.
