You can arrange the parts in your container as your creativity. If you are expecting to use more than 12 volts, dot not forget to use a good heat sink. And also you can use a volt meter as well. But, the problem is most of volt meters are not functioning lower voltage than 5 volts. If you want you can give the power separately to the volt meter.
