Microsoft Project Online - Modern Project Status Report

2025 UPDATE: For a more current version, see    • One Report to Rule Them All: Multi-Project...  . The Sensei Modern Project Status Report is an automated report for an individual project; always up-to-date and easily available from the project drill-down in Project Web App. The report highlights variances and key performance indicators on the project, including the overall health of the project; and schedule, work and cost variances. All of these with trending indicators comparing to a previous snapshot of the data. It summarizes key collaboration data for the project with counts of active issues, active risks, open change request, open decisions and active action items. The ‘Current Project Status’ section is the latest status narrative from the project manager providing additional context. And the ‘Current Milestones’ section shows recently completed milestones and the ones coming up next. The second page of the report provides summary charts for issues and change requests. The ‘Top Issues’ table then shows the top 10 issues and highlights those that are overdue or without a due date. Similarly, for Change Requests, the table lists the top entries. This Project Online SSRS report contains links back to the source of the data; and can also be saved as a PDF file for easy distribution to senior executives and stakeholders. The PDF file then allows executives to click an individual item to open it on the project site; or open the project schedule. The report can be tailored to include additional data from Project Online and custom lists on the SharePoint collaboration site.
