Morgenthau: "On the Issue of Justice, We Should Never Give Up"

Former NYC District Attorney and top litigator Robert Morgenthau offered passionate and powerful remarks for Armenian Genocide justice at the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation (IRWF) Capitol Hill luncheon on September 30th, where he accepted the Raoul Wallenberg Medal bestowed upon his grandfather, U.S. Ambassador Henry Morgenthau. Over a dozen US Senators and Members of Congress were on hand for the event held at the Capitol Visitor Center which honored Armenian President Serzh Sargisyan. House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA), Congressional Armenian Caucus Co-Chair Robert Dold (R-IL), and Armenian American Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-CA) were among those joining Morgenthau, President Sargisyan and the IRWF's Abigail Tenembaum in offering remarks. Other elected officials in attendance included Senator Ed Markey (D-MA), and Representatives Judy Chu (D-CA); David Cicilline (D-RI), Katherine Clark (D-MA); Jim Costa (D-CA), House Select Committee on Intelligence Ranking Member Adam Schiff (D-CA), Brad Sherman (D-CA), David Trott (R-MI), and David Valadao (R-CA). Strong focus was placed on the life-saving efforts of Ambassador Morgenthau and Raoul Wallenberg - who stood strong in the face of genocide and serve as a powerful example today as the world faces genocidal crises in the Middle East. Members of Congress alo focused on expanding Azerabaijani aggression against Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, and the need to end the OSCE's false parity when addressing regional instability.
