In this READ ALOUD, READ ALONG reading of "The Tale of Mrs Tiggy-winkle" by Beatrix Potter, you meet Lucie (who is always losing her hankies and clothes) and the dear little hedgehog laundry legend called Mrs Tiggy-winkle. Lucie yet again loses her hankerchief, and goes looking for it in the farmyard. None of the farm animals can help her find it. She spots something white high up on the hillside, and goes to investigate - just in case its her hanky. Her exploration leads her to the home (and workplace) and Mrs Tiggy-winkle, who is hard at work doing the neighborhood's laundry. Lucie is shown items of clothing from Henny-penny, Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny, Tabby Kitten, Cock Robin and more. Mrs Tiggy-winkle handles all the Beatrix Potter characters' laundry. Finally, when Mrs Tiggy-winkle has completed all the laundry, Lucie and her sit down to a good cup of British hot tea before they set off to do delivery of all the clean laundry. In the end, Lucie has all her lost clothing and hankies returned to her - clean and ironed - and she is left wondering if she dreamed up Mrs Tiggy-winkle or if the industrious hedgehog is indeed the brilliant washer-woman for the area.
