Following up from my previous video, here is a lil devlog about a cozy game I made about just trees! Whether your a game development expert or just starting on your game dev journey, making a micro game can be a great learning experience. I tried to build a cozy game in Unity as fast as I could. But I still wanted the game to have a genuine cozy feel and have a proper gameplay loop. Many indie game developers have been inspired from games like Stardew Valley, Terraria, Fields of Mistria and other cozy type games. Capturing that cozy vibe when developing a game can be challenging, but developing prototypes is a great way to test concepts. When going into this game dev challenge, I wasn't totally sure what I wanted to code. But I ultimately started to think about woodcutting in Runescape. Its a relatively boring mechanic, but people do it for hours. So ultimately in this devlog, I tried to recreate that woodcutting gameplay loop in a cozy style! Let me know what you thing of this game challenge and devlog! This video is sponsored by Keychron.
