I'm super annoyed with them over it because I know how disruptive it is to be woken up by loud ads in your ear. *Now I know it's a luxury, and feels like validating youtube's poopy ad-heavy strategies, but if you watch youtube as much as I do, I'd highly recommend just getting youtube premium.
