India's Worst Train Tragedy Unveiled in the Morning Light.The twisted wreckage reveals the severity of the devastating train accident. The death toll, currently at 230, is expected to rise further. The incident occurred in Balasore district, Odisha, involving three trains. First, two coaches of the Sir Visweswaraya Terminal-Howrah Superfast Express derailed around 7 pm Simultaneously, the Coromandel Express, en route to Chennai on a parallel track, collided at high speed with the derailed coaches. Witnesses describe the impact as immensely powerful, ejecting numerous passengers through shattered doors and windows. Twelve coaches of the Coromandel Express were derailed, some crashing into a stationary goods train on an adjacent track. The Railways announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the families of the deceased. In a show of solidarity, hundreds of people queued up to donate blood in Odisha.
