Jai Hind Doston, Our guest in this podcast is a Mr. Jeet Shah who is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He completed Masters Degree in Commerce from Mumbai University. He qualified as a Certified Financial Planner (CFPCM) from FPSB - India in the year 2005 and further completed his PhD. on the topic of "Financial Planning – A Comparative Study of its Current status in Mumbai and Kutch". He is a Partner at the Veer Consultancy Services having nearly 18 years of experience. He leads the Management Consulting & Corporate Finance Practice for the firm. He likes to teach and has a teaching experience of about 14 years. He is a visiting faculty with NMIMS & S.P.Jain and has also trained the teams of SBI, Mahindra Kotak Securities, Reliance Energy, LIC & SEBI's NISM. He has been a consultant to FPSB - India & was an expert in the second round table on DTC organized by Ministry of Finance. Recently he was been chosen as a "Mentor for Change" by NITI Aayog. He a member of the Board of Studies of Woxsen School of Management. He understands the disputes that the family businesses face. As mentioned by him in the podcast, the word "family" in the family business is key not just for progress but also for the speed breakers at times. In this second part of the podcast, he has explained the manner in which the roles of the older and newer generations needs to be defined. He has explained how the spouses of the family business owners create positive as well as negative effects which creates ripples in the family business and family bonding itself at times. He further narrated some of the close family demergers and how the families suffered due to those steps which could have been strategically planned but due to abrustness of the decision making, it creates issues for the businesses.
