The project will cover an area the size of two football pitches as the second-biggest in size only to that of the United Arab Emirates. Designed by Boris Micka Associates, the pavilion was made as a "window to the future" that symbolizes the nation's welcoming character, long heritage and unlimited drive. Those visiting the Saudi pavilion can expect an “immersive experience of the kingdom’s transformation”, organizers said, focusing on its history and traditions as well as its future. Designed to be "instantly recognizable" to those visiting the Expo site, the rectangular, reflective pavilion that will stand at an angle. Inside the project, a path will lead visitors through exhibition displays which highlight the country's openness to businesses and tourists, and its desire to build links and collaborate with countries. Aligned with global sustainability norms and a clear environmental vision, the eco-friendly structure boasts 650 solar panels sourced from manufactured in the Kingdom by Saudi entrepreneurs. And In keeping with the overarching theme of Expo 2020 Dubai, ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Pavilion will take visitors on a guided tour of the wonders of the country’s 13 regions through multiple immersive and interactive exhibits. A special water feature installation is set to be a prime attraction alongside a 1,320 sqm inclined mirror screen and unique art showcases attributed to Saudi artists. A glittering art installation embedded with 2,030 crystals, to represent the Saudi Vision 2030, is also anticipated to be a big draw. The Kingdom’s Pavilion rises six stories above the ground and features a 1,320 square meters inclined mirrored screen. The commissioner sought a structure that showcases Saudi’s ancient culture and heritage and, at the same time, conveys a notion of its rapid development, innovation, and future ambitions.
