Years ago, we stood on a beach, looked up at this beautiful house, and said, "One day, we’re going to come back and stay right there." And here we are! Proof that putting dreams out into the universe (and adding them to the Bucket List App 😉) really works. Casa Familia became our home for the week, and wow, what an experience. From breathtaking ocean views to our own staircase leading straight to the beach, this place was something out of a storybook. And beyond the stunning property, it was the people—the warmest, kindest staff who made us feel so at home. From delicious meals prepared by an incredible chef to the sweetest moments with the kids, we were reminded that travel is always about the connections we make. One of the biggest highlights? The whales! If you ever visit this area, come during whale season (December to March), because we were absolutely surrounded by these gentle giants. One morning, we were out on our paddleboards, and suddenly, a baby whale surfaced just beneath us. The moment was so pure, so peaceful—it felt like time stood still. And let’s not forget the baby sea turtles! Watching them take their first steps toward the ocean was one of the most magical things we’ve ever witnessed. If releasing baby sea turtles isn’t on your bucket list yet, it needs to be. The most important reason for this trip was to celebrate a huge milestone—Garrett’s little sister’s wedding! And honestly, if you could bottle up her personality and turn it into a wedding, that’s exactly what it was—joyful, present, and filled with love. As her big brother, Garrett gave her some last-minute advice: “Embrace the moment, soak it all in.” And wow, did she live that advice to the fullest. From the most heartfelt ceremony to an epic dance party (choreographed dances included, of course! 💃🕺), it was a night none of us will ever forget. We are beyond grateful to have been there to celebrate, and we wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness! This trip reminded us, yet again, why we do what we do—why we travel, explore, and spend as much time as possible together as a family. It’s never about the luxury or the places; it’s about the moments. The laughter, the adventure, the deep breaths as the sun sets over the ocean.
