Prehistory Of Egypt Part 7

We know of the humans of this era only through the scant traces preserved in the caves they inhabited, and the Cro-Magnon 9, nor the Neanderthal. This human species is not related to humans, although it possessed culture. Unfortunately, it left no traces that would allow us to compare them with those left by its contemporaries in Europe. Similarly, we have not found in Africa the clear divisions left by the Upper Paleolithic in the north. In fact, we have only observed one aspect of the Aurignacian industry, which saw its tools advance toward shapes made from macrolithic stones and geometric shapes that were crescent-shaped or octagonal, named after the town of Djfsa in Tunisia. This is what is called the Capsian industry. In fact, the Capsian industry is widespread throughout Algeria and Tunisia. However, the presence of sediments in the caves of these regions, layered one above the other, makes it easier for us to distinguish the ages according to their chronological order. Among these surface stations are a large number of "askarju" hills, which appear as places where shells are found. Small dimensions form the remains of cooking areas around the tribe's hearth. These hills contain an unlimited number of "askarju" shells, which are flammable, along with pointed fragments of shellfish, which were undoubtedly used to extract the contents of the shells. Sometimes, shellfish were found in these hills. At other stations, there are crushed eggs that humans used as vessels, replacing pottery, which was not yet known. However, these Upper Paleolithic industries were not similar to those found in Egypt during this period. This was a characteristic of the industries of Egypt during that period. It was thought that the Mousterian industry on the banks of the Nile extended to the "De Morgan" world, the emergence of the Neolithic. However, this proved to be incorrect. He was the first to prove this in "Al-Sabil", where he found that the stations he studied near the village of "Fanar" in that world undoubtedly date back to the Upper Paleolithic. The "Kom Ombo" basin, and the station's location at an elevation higher than the modern Nile silt level, bears witness to the decline of this industry. This industry, named "Fanar" after the water, which we know was widespread during this period, was called "Al-Sabil" industry.
