Built in 1849 to house the wardens of Darlinghurst Jail, the cottage blends historic charm with contemporary design. With heritage restrictions limiting structural changes, Sam focused on clever layout adjustments to maximise space. Including a reimagined kitchen built into the shape of the home, and featuring a custom island and bifold doors that seamlessly open to the cosy courtyard. The discovery of untapped attic space also allowed for a vaulted cathedral ceiling in the king-size loft bedroom, flooding the area with natural light.
