Instagram Insights Analytics: A Helpful, Data-Driven Feature

Instagram has just released Insights, which provides a variety of helpful analytics for businesses, marketers or others looking to create awesome accounts with high engagement. Instagram is constantly evolving and with its most recent “Insights” update it has taken the app to a whole new level. Insights is an analytics tool available within the app and is currently only available to a select number of accounts. We were lucky enough to receive this feature on one of the profiles that we manage and that has allowed us to make this video today. Insight allows users to track several different aspects of traffic in an easy and simple way. The first type of traffic is called Impressions, which calculates the total number of times all of your posts have been viewed. Then there is Reach that calculates the number of unique accounts that have seen any of your posts. These two elements can be viewed on a per-post or looking at the account as a whole. In addition to this, in-depth information about your followers regarding their demographics is also provided. There is a pie chart displaying gender distribution and three bar graphs: one displaying age range, the other showing the top locations of where your followers are located, and lastly one that shows the average times that your followers are online and most active. Similar to google analytics and other analytics tools available, Insights now gives Instagram users access to better metrics. This tool can help businesses who are investing in social media marketing better understand their ROI. Additionally, Insights provides easily accessible information about the amount of traffic on a user’s profiles and it is definitely a step in the right direction for Instagram.
