Hey there everyone! Today we’re going to explore one of the 80s not so renowned films which was considered a fusion between folk horror and fantasy, George Pavlou’s Rawhead Rex. The original version of Rawhead Rex was a short story that appeared in the third volume of Clive Barker’s Books of Blood series. The series was published in six volumes; the first three in 1984 and the later ones in 1985. It was later made into a film in 1986 for which Barker himself wrote the screenplay. Clive Barker is a multitalented English playwright, novelist, film director, and visual artist. Although he is the author of many famous works which were turned into screenplays, including The Hellbound Heart which was adapted into the famous Hellraiser film series, one of his most notable works to this day, remains the aforementioned Books of Blood series.
