President George W Bush and his wife, Laura, crisscrossed the capital city to attend all eight official inaugural balls on Saturday night. And at each one, he acknowledged his failing, before joining his wife in a quick box step before revelers. First Lady Laura Bush wore a floor-length, long-sleeved red sparkling dress with a sequined floral pattern. The First Couple spent only about five minutes at each event and turned in early, arriving back at the White House before midnight, an hour earlier than expected. They were joined on their tour of the balls by their 19-year-old twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna. Bush managed to embarrass Jenna when he tried to twirl her, and instead, managed to get her and her strapless gown tangled up. Looking mortified, she pulled away from him and pulled up the front of her dress. Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife, Lynne, also made the rounds of all eight balls across the nation's capital to celebrate with supporters. In all, about 50-thousand people had mobbed the eight official events. SOUNDBITE: (English) "We have had a fantastic day today and I hope you have as well. Its an amazing experience as I'm sure you can imagine but its an amazing experience for all of us to watch a peaceful transfer of power. It's the greatness of the country. It's what is so wonderful about our country is that we are a stable source of democracy for others to look at. I'm so proud to be your president. It's a huge honour."
