Houston Stewart Chamberlain was a British writer, 'philospher', who also wrote in French and German. He spent a large part of his life in Germany where he wrote on such figures as Richard Wagner , Immanuel Kant and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe amongst others. He was one of the leading anti Semites of his day and was a major influence on the National Socialist German Workers Party - in particular on the thoughts of Hitler, Hess and Rosenberg. His best known work is The Foundations of the Nineteenth Century (1899), which became a standard work of racist and ideological anti-Semitism in Germany and other countries. He did not live long enough to see his hate put into action but he did live long enough to meet those that would do so. This video was shot next to his grave in Bayreuth, Germany.
