Sequoia National Park - swimming spots and big trees | where to stay, what to do | 4K

Sequoia National park located in the southern Sierra Nevadas east of Visalia, California. It is the second oldest national park in the United States established September 25, 1890 protecting 631 square miles of forested mountainous terrain including the highest point in the contiguous United States, Mount Whitney, at 14,505 feet. The park is home to some of the largest living trees on earth including the General Sherman tree which is not the tallest, widest or even the oldest, but the largest tree by volume. We had friends staying at Lodgepole campground but we couldn't get a site. After searching everything in the area, I found availability at the neighboring park, Kings Canyon at Grants Grove tent cabins. The cabins were very comfortable, but don't have electric. It's wasn't an issue for us, we travel with our trusty Luci solar lights.
