[hate5six] Inside Out - March 02, 1990

Jackpot. 32 years ago today INSIDE OUT performed at Mariners Church in Irvine, CA. If you follow me you know I go to batshit insane lengths to track down lost recordings of this band. They only played a handful of shows & every recording (photo/video/audio) is important. If a known recording exists, I hunt for the original tape. If I see someone holding a video camera in the background of a photo, I track that person down. Analog media deteriorates after 30 years so this has been a race against the clock to get all things Inside Out digitally preserved. 2007: a stage right angle of Inside Out performing Sacrifice from 3/2/90 surfaced on YouTube. Up until then no known recordings of it circulated. It was uploaded by "CowProd" who also shared equally rare early RATM. I tracked him down. Turned out he was a film student who knew Zack and happened to film Rage's early shows. But the Inside Out clip was on a tape he got, so I knew something circulated. I had to find it. 2014: Brian Balchack (youtube/comejoinfriends) struck gold and acquired an early generation of that set. Every time a VHS tape is copied, the copy is a descendent of the tape it copied and later gens suffer from degraded quality. Judging by the signal quality on the CJF footage, it seems close to the master tape. The person filming starts off on stage left, moves to stage right for a couple songs (Sacrifice) then ends up in the crowd. You can actually see someone else filming from behind Chris Bratton. I had to find THAT footage. 2018: Sean Clark (youtube/malfuncsean) struck gold and uploaded that behind-the-kit angle to YouTube. The quality is degraded so I'm still hunting for the master. 2022: Rob Haworth dug out a tape labeled "Inside Out" from his mom's attic. Rob & Mark Haworth both played in Inside Out Whenever Rob sends me stuff it's USUALLY gold: either never been seen footage or an earlier gen of a known video. This tape is gold. Not only was it the 3/2/90 set but it's a different angle than the two already in existence. I digitized/remastered the shit outta it. I know of a few people reading this who are sitting on unreleased Inside Out recordings. Stop being weirdly possessive and digitize them before they turn to dust.
