Letting Go of the Past

God forgave you the moment you first asked. You don’t have to keep beating yourself up over it. I used to do that too — keep asking for forgiveness for the same thing — until one night God whispered to me, "I forgave you the first time you asked." Now it’s time to forgive yourself. Remember what Philippians 3:13-15 says: “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal… All of us then who are mature should take a view of things, and if on some point you think differently, God will make it clear to you.” Let that burden lift. Repent, receive God’s forgiveness, and move forward. If there’s something else you need to hear, God will let you know — no need to assume you’re doing something wrong all the time.
