@chrissmoove is a staple of my 2K experience. I go back as far as a fan as 2K12-13 which lines up close to when I was really getting into basketball. I find an excuse to create him in almost any 2K (or basketball game) that I load up. His created player is an essential what-if to rosters and MyLeagues because of how he brought it to life. There were other Youtubers who made it big doing his thing but it doesn't hit the same without his commentary. He was just a guy who is exceptional at the game and having fun leveling up whatever the best method was in that version. For some reason it feels more real when you go through the story of a season in a year you choose. If he didn't talk about his real life in his commentaries you'd be immersed like his player was the MyPlayer representative. When I see and hear the OG Player talk, it fits the image of Smoove's most. His videos are a vibe for those of us growing up in the 2K11-15 era you just don't find anywhere else. I've done simulations of his player on modern Pelicans teams, put him on my actual PS3 save, had him at the helm of 2k14 Suns MyGM (even though that game doesn't let you edit or create players). I've never went the whole MyPlayer process to try to match how he plays. It starts with retracing his player model from a grainy old video upload and lifting his signatures from his 2K13 MP creation at the beginning of the series. I found out it won't be complete because 2k13 hid accessories behind offline and/or VC 🤷🏻‍♂️ I can conclusively say I have no idea how he dominated back then dealing with these archaic controls. When my player isn't catching up getting dusted, he's dribbling the ball off himself. There's glimpses of Smoove in the manner in which I sky for rebounds or hustle to guard all five players. The jumpshot is pure as ever. It masks my dependence on the meter 🤐 I'm mixing in the simple point guard reads to AD - maybe we'll be a PnR duo in New Orleans again. My statline ends up well-rounded. I'm not a 0 but the difference between me and Dame is noticeable. It was becoming obvious he isn't shooting the high-volume 3s he's known for and I adjusted.
