Under Japan's "Ultra-Compact Mobility" vehicle regulations, the EVM is restricted to a top speed of just 60 km/h and cannot be driven on highways. Energy is stored in a 10 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, which gives the AIM EVM a range of 120 km on a single charge. Charging is simple, taking just 5 hours from a standard 200V socket, and the vehicle includes an external power supply port as part of its standard equipment. The AIM EVM will first be offered in Okinawa Prefecture starting this summer, with plans for a nationwide rollout in the near future. The company’s target is to sell 1,000 units per year, with an attractive starting price of ¥1,900,000, making it an affordable option for those looking for a compact, eco-friendly vehicle.
