Search is used in lots of websites and applications we use daily. From filtering for the size of shoes we want to buy, to asking search engines questions, and the way we search for information has changed significantly. Therefore the applications we build also need to change! Join us as we learn how traditional text analysis and semantic search work, and how Elasticsearch queries and vector search capabilities can help you build a search experience in your web application with JavaScript. In this workshop you will take part in the following activities: 1. Create their own index and ingest data into Elasticsearch. 2. Perform simple queries to find documents matching specific keywords using Kibana DevTools. 3. Generate vector embeddings and use them to perform semantic search against your documents using Kibana DevTools. 4. Comparison of the queries and results between the text and vector searches performed. 5. Integration with a simple JavaScript application using the Elasticsearch Node.js client, and LangChain for the vector search results. Here are link to the resources covered in this session: 1.
