Dino Path Trail is a survival roguelike that combines two very exciting things; cowboys and dinosaurs. Yes, you read that right, two things that six year old me thought were AWESOME have now been combined in a video game. Hurrah for progress! The game has an unusual premise; what if dinosaurs didn't become extinct and were still around in the time of the Wild West? So as well as all the cowboy gun slinging rootin' tootin' stuff, there are also dinosaurs? We play as Lucy who is out to get some good old revenge on the bandits who killed her Mother and kidnapped her Sister. We can explore the world around us, gathering resources as we go and we can then craft various bits and bobs, such as axes, knives and rope. As we progress through the game we get to develop our camp which gives us workstations where we can craft even fancier things, including better weaponry! Because of course, in a world of cowboys and dinosaurs there's fighting. We have a bounty on our head so bounty hunters pop by to try to kill us, plus we're good prey for the dinosaurs, so we need to shoot and dodge our way to safety, and if we're able to time our moves to perfection we get some nifty bonuses. We move between different biomes, we make sacrifices at temples to get handy new powers and we even have a pet dinosaur! Aawwww.
