The process is the same and it is fully working in both versions. In this video, we show you how to download and install data packs in Minecraft 1.16.4. What are data packs? Well, they are basically mods for Minecraft 1.16.4 that can be installed in vanilla Minecraft. They don’t require any external mod loaders, and they work per world. Meaning you don’t have to worry about the data packs you installing causing issues on servers or in other worlds you have in Minecraft. So, here is how to download and install data packs in Minecraft 1.16.4! The first part of getting data packs in Minecraft 1.16.4 is downloading data packs. You can find our complete list of incredible 1.16.4 data packs in the description above. All of these data packs are tested and confirmed working in Minecraft 1.16.4. From vein miner to vanilla tweaks to lucky block type mods, we have all kinds of different data packs for you to choose from. Once you have found the data pack you want to download, just click the download button under it. You will the be taken to the official download page for that Minecraft data pack. In the truth though, every download page is going to be different, so just follow the download process on the data pack you choose. After you have your data packs downloaded, it is time to get them installed. In order to do this, hit the windows key on your keyboard and ‘r’ at the exact same time. This will open the Run application. In the text box in this app, type %appdata% and hit enter. This will take you to your roaming folder. Click the .minecraft folder here, and then, open up your saves folder. This will take you to where you will see all of the singleplayer Minecraft worlds you have installed. To add data packs, click on the world you want to add the data packs to. Remember, data packs will only work in the specific single player maps you install them in. Once you have opened up the map you want to add data packs to, click on the ‘datapacks’ folder. Then, drag-and-drop any data packs you want to install into this folder. It’s that easy to install data packs in Minecraft 1.16.4. You aren’t done just yet however. You still need to open up Minecraft, go into singleplayer, and open up the map you installed your data packs on, once you get in game, type ‘/reload’ in chat.
