Green Roof DIY Episode 3: Waterproof Membrane | Drainage System Installation

Today we are laying down the water proof membrane and implementing a drainage system. The goal is to maintain a waterproof seal over the roofing material while allowing water to enter the pipe and down the downspout. Last week we built the deep bed frame of our DIY green roof on top of our pasture shelter and continued to create more support so that the structure can hold the weight of the green roof. Although we are homesteaders on youtube, we want to start out first by saying that we are by no means experts in the homesteading lifestyle. We still consider ourselves to be brand new, starting our family homestead from scratch. Two years ago we moved into this 100+ year old farmhouse with a little less than 4 acres of land, a couple barns, and a whole lot of potential.
