Vanished Wings, Enduring Songs | A Painting by Kareem Moumina - Short Film

In my latest painting, endangered and extinct birds gather in a luminous space, their forms intertwined with color and light. They emerge from the darkness like spirits, powerful reminders of what once thrived and what continues to embrace existence. Each feather and gaze fearlessly testifies to their fragile place in the world, reflecting my deep cultural connection to Nature and my country, the Philippines. In my work, color, Nature, and beauty are far more than aesthetic choices, but I embrace the language through which I assert the richness of the human experience. Beauty is an active voice of remembrance, a means to honor what we risk losing. In a world that often forgets, I paint to ensure we remember. I seek to express the interconnectedness of all life, the fleeting yet profound Nature of existence, and the urgent necessity to truly see the world around us before it fades into darkness.
