Arriving over three-and- a-half incredibly successful years after the previous installment, it is the first in the series to be released on the duo’s own Barong Family label. The new EP showcases the current state of maximum impact bass music and features collaborations with Valentino Khan and Stoltenhoff. Back in 2013, Yellow Claw announced their arrival on the international stage with a free EP on Jeffree’s/Mad Decent, confidently titled Amsterdam Trap Music. The four tracks contained within it (including fan favorites like ‘W.O.L.F.’ and ‘21 Bad Bitches’) proved to be only the beginnings of what was to come, with 2014’s Amsterdam Trap Music Vol. 2 showing big gains in building the Yellow Claw sound. The EP’s opening track ‘Techno’, featuring LNY TNZ, Diplo and Waka Flocka Flame, is still absolutely massive. Amsterdam Trap Music Vol. 3 does not let up from the moment the beat drops for the first time in ‘Loudest MF’, an energy monster of a track featuring Philly MC and Dim Mak recording artist Bok Nero. ‘Dog Off’ is the sound of an alarm going off when the party gets a little too frenzied, as if that’s going to stop anyone. Frequent Yellow Claw collaborator Stoltenhoff climbs on board for the unique ‘Beastmode’, a track that manages to be both dreamlike and relentless at the same time. Finally, Valentino Khan makes his long-awaited debut appearance on Barong Family with a collab that will have you reaching for the repeat button as soon as the EP has finished. ‘Don’t Stop’, indeed.
