“Hands Off!” protest: Massive demonstration against Trump, Musk in Germany’s Berlin, Frankfurt

Several hundred protesters hit streets in Frankfurt and Berlin on April 5 against US President Donald Trump and his advisor Elon Musk. This comes after a bruising week for markets after President Trump unveiled global reciprocal tariffs. In Frankfurt, the “Hands Off!” demonstration was organised by Democrats Abroad, who raised anti-Trump slogans. Democrats Abroad is the official organization of the Democratic Party for United States citizens living abroad. “The Trump government is taking the USA into basically Germany of the 1930s. It's that simple,” said Democrats Abroad spokesperson Timothy Kautz. In Berlin, the demonstrators protested in front of a Tesla showroom, the EV company owned by Elon Musk. They held placards calling on fellow Americans living in Germany to protest for “an end to the chaos” at home. Gathering at Frankfurt's Opernplatz, members of the US foreign democrats demanded the resignation of the US president.
