Tofael Ahmed - Bangabandhu assigned special tasks to Sheikh Moni, Serajul Alam Khan, Abdur Razzak and me. He used to brief us everyday by saying, "Yahya is only killing time. You guys take your preparation". Did the Non-cooperation movement take place by the command of Rab or Shajahan or Serajul Alam Khan? Did it take place by my command? It was Bangabandhu who used to issue ALR against MLR (Martial Law Regulation) to Tajuddin Ahmed. After the declaration of Bangabandhu on the 26th, the curfew was withdrawn for 2 hours on the 27th. At that time all the four of us - Seikh Moni, Serajul Alam Khan, Abdur Razzak and me along with Rab, Nur E Alam Siddiqui and Shajahan Siraj met in a house at Keraniganj. National leaders Kamruzzaman and Mansur Ali were there. Staying there for today we started journey towards India. During the Non-cooperation movement Bangabndhu sent Dr. Abu Hena to India. We travelled through the same way. Bangabandhu informed four of us that we would get shelter at the address - 21 Rajendra Road, Northern Park, Bhabanipur, Kolkata. Though I admire the historic contributions of Rab and Shahjahan Siraj, they were not present at that meeting and were not called by Bangabandhu to memorize the address. Chittaranjan Sutar was sent there in advance by Bangabandhu. Bangabandhu even reached understanding with India. Because of his such pre planning Tajudding Ahmed succeeded in forming government there and gave speech addressing the nation. Yes, we heard the voice of Ziaur Rahman on the 27th when we were at Gagan's house. But that does not mean he declared the independence. The National Anthem was chosen by Bangabandhu. Because Bangabandhu was a national leader, he was not able to do many things in his own name. He was not willing to give anyone the chance to tag him as separatist.
