Lavender, one of her classmates, is also hidden in the same place. Matilda asks her if this lady is a teacher. Lavender tells her that she is their principal. Hortensia, another classmate, sees them and tells them that they better come out of their hiding place because if Mrs Trunchbull finds them here, she might get angry and punish them.
