A new study found more than 1,100 new housing units are needed in Clinton County over the next 5 years to keep up with the area’s growing demand. The feasibility study spearheaded by the Clinton County Industrial Development Agency suggested five potential sites for new housing including property at Clinton Community College, which is relocating to the SUNY Plattsburgh Campus this fall, as well as the site of the former Miromar Outlet Mall right near the border in Champlain. County officials said more housing is desperately needed to keep up with an expected increase in the population. Molly Ryan, Executive Director of the Clinton County Industrial Development Agency joined us to talk about the study and how the county will offer housing developers a sales tax exemption in hopes it will help get projects off the ground. She also discusses the impact tariffs are having on the number of Canadians crossing the border to fly out of Plattsburgh International Airport, as well as Contour Airlines' new flights to Washington's Dulles Airport.
