Palermo, Sicily 4K Walking Tour - Amazing Street Culture 🇮🇹

This virtual walking tour on the lively streets of Palermo was filmed on Sunday, May 29th. You will enjoy seeing the Italian restaurants, cafes, bars, piazzas, historic churches, shopping streets, and the Italian people enjoying the beautiful day on the island of Sicily. We start on the main pedestrian street called Via Maqueda near the Piazza Quattro Canti in the heart of the city. Palermo is the capital of the Italian island of Sicily. The 12th-century Palermo Cathedral houses royal tombs, while the huge neoclassical Teatro Massimo is known for opera performances. Also in the center are the Palazzo dei Normanni, a royal palace started in the 9th century, and the Cappella Palatina, with Byzantine mosaics. Busy markets include the central Ballarò street market and the Vucciria, near the port. The city is noted for its history, culture, architecture and gastronomy, playing an important role throughout much of its existence; it is over 2,700 years old. Palermo is in the northwest of the island of Sicily, by the Gulf of Palermo in the Tyrrhenian Sea.
