Finding your niche may feel like a struggle. One of the hardest things for me as a Youtuber and generally as a person is focusing and not taking up on new projects. Every few days my mind creates an entire business plan for an amazing idea that is going to make me a billionaire, sometimes I might even take a few steps in the direction I was thinking of and eventually drop from it. So I personally feel like finding a niche on Youtube is kind of like choosing your major for college, you know that if you make the wrong choice, you'll end up wasting a lot of time on something you ended up not using. A big reason why you SHOULD niche down and not be an all in 1 type of channel is making it easier for your viewer. Imagine a channel posting 1 time about Soccer, the second time about Politics, and 3rd time about fashion, the viewer ends up being really confused about what my channel is about. First question, What are you really excited and passionate about? Second question, What would you enjoy making for a long time? Third question, What type of people would you like to be around? To give a quick example, I am passionate about photography and videography, I have enjoyed making videos my entire life and I love spending time with other creators since it's fun to learn from each other. Now I do want to emphasize that there can be more than 1 answer to this question which brings me to my next tip and it is making a content list. Second step: Write down all of your ideas for a channel, and simply write underneath as many content Ideas you might be having. For example, if you wrote down NBA, Photography, and Vlog as your 3 options write down underneath each one of them ideas for 3-5 pieces of content you can be creating for these niches. The process will really help you understand what comes more naturally for you and what you will be able to consistently make content about without getting too frustrated every time you want to release a new piece of content. The 3rd tip I have for you guys is to actually use Tube buddy. If you don't know Tube buddy, it is essentially a certified YouTube SEO tool and chrome extension that connects directly to your Youtube dashboard. Once you install it on your browser (which is very easy!) and log in, your YouTube dashboard becomes entirely upgraded! 1 cool thing I like doing is putting the title of the video ideas I have into the search bar and then see the overall score of that title. It helps me make a decision whether this topic is worth diving into? is it too saturated? or is there not enough search volume on the topic.
