Join us as we visit Rovinj - a charming Croatian town on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula on the Adriatic sea! Rovinj is a quaint fishing town with a photogenic harbor, cobbled car-free streets and some of the best seafood restaurants in Croatia. Originally named as Rovigno which was then later changed to Rovinj, this city looks more Italian than Croatian. However, as it is officially bilingual, the town now goes by both of these names! When we arrived at Rovinj, we were impressed at how eye-pleasing the harbor looked. Packed with fishing boats, and small ferries, and lined with cafes and gelaterias, we kept stopping along the walk into the town awestruck by the picturesque beauty! When we finally arrived at the old town, it was like stepping back in time. Rovinj is quite small with a population of only around 14,000 people, but it is not short on things to do or places to visit. We loved getting lost in its narrow, crisscrossing streets, and discovering the small boutiques, souvenir shops, cafes, and the wonderful Venetian style architecture! The people living in the old town love to dry their clothes outdoors which adds even more color and character to the setting. Rovinj is also home to many beautiful cats that roam around freely. We tried to make friends with a few of them :-) After wandering around for a few hours we stopped to enjoy a stunning sunset at the shore.
