Dracula by Bram Stoker (1897), a classic piece of English Literature, here read & produced by me, Steven Garnett. Although "Gothic Literature" & "Vampire Horror" this is a story of love, friendship and strength in the face of adversity; a truly beautiful piece! I read in "British English" (born in Yorkshire, northern England) but all narration in this book is in the form of character performances, not my native voice, as there is no "narrator" as such. That said, of the main cast Jonathan Harker is closest. Musical interludes are Toccata and Fugue in D minor by J.S. I feel silly for never having read this book until now. It is easy to form a preconception of what you think a book will be like, particularly a story and character so famous, a character too that is so often parodied. For me becoming immersed in the original writing has brought new life to this most iconic of vampires.
