Part of the development work for an artist residency project. Inspired by other people's MaKey MaKey projects - I thought I'd give it a try myself. This project combines the Makey Makey and some fruit and veg with Logic pro and live looping. The fruit and veg are connected to the various ports on the Makey Makey (the earth port is connected to a foil pad at my feet). The Makey Makey is then connected to a laptop running VMPK (Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard) and Logic Pro. When I touch the earth pad and any of the fruit or vegetables simultaneously a circuit is created and midi notes are triggered. I created an EXS-24 instrument (in Logic Pro) containing all the sounds required (Bass, drums, keys etc) and assigned each sound to a particular port on the makey makey. The audio is then captured and looped using an Electro Harmonix 2880 Multi-Track Looper.
