Hi guys! Today we'll compare tree cabin air filters from Mann. The basic one vs the advanced one vs the premium FreciousPlus. Let's see if there's any difference between them and which should we buy. This video was not sponsored by Mann or anyone else. ❗ Note: In this video I stated that the odor absorbing performance of the activated carbon filters is a certain percentage. However, this is wrong because I calculated this percentage based on the control value which was maxed out at 2mg due to equipment limitations. The control value could have been 2.1mg or 100mg, therefore we can't calculate the exact value for this parameter. But, nevertheless, we can see a reduction, which is a good thing. Each test was repeated 3 times. The control was performed 3 times, the dust test, the smoke test, the VOC test, the gas exhaust test and the diesel exhaust test. Only the maximum recorded value was taken into account, so I ended up having 3 values for each test. The average between these 3 values was reported as the final value mentioned in the video. The dust test: 2.2g of cement powder was used. For this test the powder was distributed evenly across the filter surface by the fan suspended above the filter. The fan below the filter provided additional suction that ensured adequate filtration absorption. The smoke test: 50 square mm of paper was used to create smoke for this test. The paper was placed on the bulb which burned the paper. The smoke was trapped in the box above the filter and after exactly 50sec, the fan was switched on the pull the smoke through the filter. The VOC test: 4 drops of acetone placed on a pad was used for this test. The pad was positioned 2.5cm from the filter surface. The gas exhaust test: my motorcicle was used for this test. Suzuki V-Strom 1000 from 2002. The engine was turned on for 10 sec and the exhaust was positioned 1.5m from the filter housing. The diesel exhaust test: the car used for this test was a Skoda Roomster with a 1.4 TDI Euro 4 engine. The engine was turned on for 10 sec and the exhaust was positioned 1.5m from the filter housing. Please take into consideration, that the measuring equipment used is not calibrated by any means. It is used only for determining if there are any differences between products.
