The dress code laws in Iran are so strict that they have special forces - the morality police - whose main job is to ensure that women are following these laws properly. If someone is found violating this, they are given “education” [read: beaten]. In Mahsa’s case, there were eye-witnesses (and doctors) who let out what actually happened to her. Now the whole country is in turmoil - women have taken to streets burning their hijabs in bonfires and cutting their hair in protest of the unjust law. In retaliation, the police has arrested over 700 people and 75+ people have been killed till now. Meanwhile, in India, women are being banned to wear this headscarf. Be it Iran or India, it is NOT about hijab; It is about WOMEN’s right to FREEDOM OF LIFE. This is the underlying issue.
