(1 Oct 1996) Russian/Nat Chechen separatist President, Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev, in an exclusive interview with APTV, has said that he will meet with Russian officials in Moscow but only on an as yet unscheduled date. Yandarbiyev stressed that there is no point in a meeting unless it produced concrete results. Yandarbiyev, the Chechen separatist President, spoke Sunday at a small rally in the village of Komsomolskoye not far from the Chechen capital Grozny. Later this week, a delegation headed by Yandarbiyev is expected in Moscow for talks. Yandarbiyev listed the various points that he will bring up in his meeting with the Russian government. SOUNDBITE: (Russian) "First of all the main problem is the complete withdrawal of Russian troops. The beginning of a concrete rebuilding of the Chechen government and Chechnya's social and economical reconstruction, the exchange of POWs on the principle of all-for-all, and the search for MIAs (Missing In Action ) without any obstruction, and of course aid for all Chechen citizens who suffered material or moral losses, including killed relatives. We will discuss these questions." SUPER CAPTION: Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev, Chechen President He also reiterated that the subject of Chechnya's status is not a topic for discussion, now or even at a later date. SOUNDBITE: (Russian) "Chechnya's status, as we have always said and are now saying is not under question. Chechnya is an independent state. What we discuss with Russia is the character of our mutual relations with Russia."
