In this video, I showcase my project on a Hybrid Electromagnet Magnetic Levitation (Maglev) System, developed as part of the Advanced Control Systems module in my Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering degree. 🛠 Software Used: SolidWorks – For 3D CAD modeling and exporting to Simscape Multibody J-MAG Designer – For electromagnetic field simulation and force modeling MATLAB - Plot graph for J-MAG simulation data and acquire relationship between Force, Air Gap and Current through coil. Coil64 - Calculate coil stack dimensions and resistance MATLAB Simulink – For system simulation, nonlinear control, and dynamic analysis Key Features of the System: Zero-power levitation control using a hybrid electromagnet Nonlinear force modeling based on air gap and current PD + I controller with and without sensor noise Dynamic response to varying external disturbances Filtering techniques for noise handling This project was a fantastic hands-on experience in merging mechanical design with control theory and system dynamics — bridging theory and practical skills.
